Watch me struggle with playing my own demo

The Terralysia demo is out on Steam and doing great. People are having fun and as a result our little Discord community is growing and I’m seeing tons of great ideas being shared. Many will make it into the final game build in one way or another.

One thing that’s becoming very clear is, the game is hard! It used to be harder, as you may remember if you were part of the earlier playtests. Still, the demo is difficult and not for the faint of heart. In fact, even I struggle with playing through the entire demo. You can watch me fail to complete the demo in this playthrough video.

As more persistent upgrades and unlocks are added to the game, it will become easier to progress even for the less roguelike-experienced of us. You will be able to spend the fragments you earn to increase efficiency of various abilities and you will unlock new spells and items with unique synergies.

Progress towards the Early Access release later this year is going well with a lot of new content being added. In addition to new maps, bosses, spells, and items, new playable characters will offer different play styles. If you’re tired of the fireball slinging mage that’s currently in the demo, here’s a sneak peak at the new archer, where skill shots are the game.
